USS Nicholas Last Homecoming

NORFOLK- Friends and family gathered at Naval Station Norfolk to welcome home the crew of USS Nicholas.
The
guided-missile frigate left Naval Station Norfolk on January 20 to take
part in maritime security and anti-piracy operations. The crew also
participated in exercises with the British, French and Russian navies.
While in the region, Nicholas helped a cargo ship that was taking on water.
It also escorted two U.S. submarines through the Suez Canal.
This was the last deployment for USS Nicholas. The ship will be decommissioned in 2014..
